Jodi Murray
Education – Recreation Leadership Diploma, Mohawk College, Adult Education Diploma, St. Francis Xavier University, Honours Bachelor of Arts; Major Geography and Environmental Studies Business Administrative Option, Wilfrid Laurier University, Master of Geography and Environmental Studies, Wilfrid Laurier University.
Teaching Background – Part-time, courses in Recreation and Leisure Programs at Conestoga College and Mohawk College and a Research/Teaching Assistant, Wilfrid Laurier University .
Curriculum Development Experience – Developing and designing curriculum for Recreation and Leisure and Communication course for Conestoga College .
Employment Highlights – Facility/District Supervisor for City of Kitchener , Parks and Recreation, responsible for managing senior centers and programs. Eighteen years in the field of Recreation both direct and in-direct programming, supervision, facility management of senior centres and all-age centres.
Memberships – Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO), The Canadian Association of Geographers and Past President of Recreation Association of West Central Ontario (RAWCO).
Christy Parsons
Education – Honours graduate of the Recreation Leadership Diploma, Conestoga College and Bachelor of Education in Adult Education, Brock University .
Employment Highlights – Director of Recreation & Volunteer Services, The Village of Winston Park, responsible for volunteer management and programming. Recreation Coordinator, The Village of Winston Park and Recreation Consultant for long term Care/Retirement Facilities.
Additional Experience – Developed and implemented a new Volunteer Training Manual and workshop for long-term care facility. In partnership with University of Waterloo , developed a “Volunteer's Guide to Alzheimer's Disease & Related Dementia.” Incorporated a Charitable Foundation with Revenue Canada and planned, prepared and reported through three professional accreditations.
Volunteer Involvement – Board of Director Member for the Winston Park Charitable Foundation and overseeing daily operations of the Foundation, Winston Park Social Committee and Recreation Department, Recreation and Leisure Services Program, Conestoga College and Canadian Blood Services.
Nicole Maxwell
Education – Bachelor of Education in Adult Education, Brock University and Bachelors Degree in Honours Recreation and Leisure Studies, University of Waterloo .
Teaching Background – Seniors Literacy Instructor and Grade 11 Health for Life Course at St. Louis Adult Learning Centre.
Curriculum Development Experience – Designing and implementing learning outcomes based curriculum, lesson plans, and learning activities for all learners and researching essential computer related knowledge and skills for curriculum development.
Employment Highlights – Giving Back; Volunteering for Work Experience Coordinator, St. Louis Adult Learning Centre responsible for coordinating the overall development of the Giving Back Project, including workshops and partnerships. Seniors Literacy and Basic Skills Instructor, St. Louis Adult Learning Centre responsible for curriculum, also as a Teacher for Grade 11 Health for Life course. Part-time Activities Programmer and Recreationist, Recreation Day Program/Lifeskills Program, Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre responsible for assessing the recreation needs of clients and assist in coordinating and supervising daily recreation programs.
