Academic Upgrading and Academic and Career Entrance (ACE)

If you do not have your Grade 12 or equivalent, lack specific courses for college entry or want to improve your academic knowledge and skills, Academic Upgrading or the ACE program may be for you.

The ACE Certificate is recognized as a Grade 12 equivalent for the purpose of entering college post-secondary programs or apprenticeship training, and by many employers.

Academic Upgrading provides required individual courses for entry into Conestoga post-secondary programs and apprenticeship training.

Location: The programs are available at Arthur, Cambridge, Guelph, Listowel, Stratford, Waterloo and the Doon campuses. See the Continuing Education catalogue for evening and Wednesday morning options.

Cost:The courses are free for Ontario residents; Continuing Education courses are fee-based

Focus for Change and Discover Your Future

If you are not sure about your career plans and further education and training, the “Discover Your Future”  and “Focus for Change” programs provide you with an opportunity to:

  • participate in academic and self assessment
  • career exploration to develop realistic career goals
  • create an action plan to achieve those goals

Discover Your Future

Discover Your Future is a 10 week Certificate program focusing on individualized assessment and career planning for adults.

Location: Cambridge, Guelph and Waterloo campuses

Eligibility: Over the age of 19. Acceptance is based on individualized assessment.

Cost: Tuition free for Ontario residents

Availability:

  • January starts: Cambridge, Guelph and Waterloo
  • September start: Waterloo

Focus For Change

Focus for Change is a 15 week Certificate program focusing on individualized assessment and career planning for women, addressing specific issues faced by women.

Location: Cambridge, Guelph and Waterloo campuses

Eligibility: Women over the age of 19. Acceptance is based on individualized assessment.

Cost: Tuition free

Availability:

  • September starts: Cambridge, Guelph and  Waterloo
  • January start: Waterloo
