Bridge Volunteer Program
What is it?
Bridges is a social support service offered to Conestoga students with disabilities. The program is designed to offer meaningful support to identified students to ease their transition to campus life and enhance their experience at Conestoga.
Program partners will be paired with an identified student and provide him or her with support in the areas of campus navigation and social interaction. In addition, partners will be well-versed in the other support services available to all Conestoga students depending on their level of need.
What are the benefits?
Program volunteers will develop skills in the areas of leadership, communication and time management. It is an opportunity to meet new friends and expand your awareness of the college and gain disability awareness.
Who can apply?
Students eligible to be a Bridges volunteer must currently be enrolled in courses at the college and be in good academic standing. Volunteers make a commitment to the program of one to two hours a week in addition to two staff meetings per semester.
