Description: This course is designed to prepare first time parents for their birth experience and postpartum period. Topics include: the birth process, labour positions, comfort measures, possible medical interventions in labour, and how to care for yourself and your newborn after delivery including breastfeeding and parenting tips for safety. Students will also learn and demonstrate principles of Infant CPR. Course cost is for two people (ie. expectant mother and partner).
Description: Develop the language required to communicate effectively in a medical setting. Medical terminology, word structure as well as diagnostic procedures and pharmacology related to twelve body systems will be studied.
