Welcome to OntarioLearn.com
OntarioLearn.com is a consortium of Ontario Colleges whose mandate is shared development, expenses and delivery of courses online (over the Internet) through the use learning management systems such as FirstClass, Blackboard, Blackboard CE6, Moodle, Angel platforms. Courses are delivered online through a combination of specially designed websites and/or email. Through this medium, students can register for individual courses or work toward certificates/diplomas. Students can take courses from their home or almost anywhere, accessing the course(s) at their convenience.
On June 1, 2004 OntarioLearn.com was presented with the CADE award for Excellence and Innovation in Partnership/Collaboration at the CADE Conference in Toronto. This award recognizes all the colleges for the innovation the consortium has shown in working together in a collaborative model to build OntarioLearn.
How Do I Get Started?
Conestoga does NOT mail start up packages to students. All information is available online. Once registered, please access your
start up information online.
Course Start-up
Student accounts will be activated for the start of your course. Check the website for information on the
Login procedures. You may not start the course until the official start date. Courses run from 10 - 14 weeks, depending on the course. Each OntarioLearn.com course has a scheduled start and end date. These courses are not continuous intake, however, some courses do offer a monthly intake.
Refund Detail
If course registrations are insufficient: the course will be cancelled, students will be notified by the Registrar's Office and a full refund will be issued. Cancellation decisions are made 4 days prior to the scheduled start date. The refund deadline is 14 calendar days after the start date. NO REFUNDS will be issued after this date.
Textbooks
Unless otherwise stated, all textbooks are extra. More information on purchasing
textbooks is available online. Refer to the “Course Details” on the website for the book required for your course. You will purchase your books through
www.textnet.ca unless otherwise stated on the course details.
Exams
If there is an exam to be written at the registering college, students are required to come to the College to write their exam. Your instructor will give you exam details. Please refer to
“Exam Information” for up-to-date exam schedules. You need to register for your final exam through the website at least three weeks prior to the exam time by clicking on “Book Your Personal Final Exam.” The exam schedule will be made available shortly after the courses start.
Grades
Marks will take approximately 3-4 weeks to be processed after the exam. They are posted on the College website http://www.conestogac.on.ca – click on Student Portal. You will require your student id number and date of birth for the initial log in. If you have any problems accessing the Student Portal, you may contact the Registrar’s Office.
