Login Procedures

Course Access

When logging into your course, go to www.ontariolearn.com and click on Log in. To access your course you will be required to enter a "User/Login ID" and a "Password". For FirstClass platform, you will be required to download and install (free) software before you can login to your course - download details are set out below.

Make sure you read the information carefully and watch for announcements at this website once you have entered the course.

Login ID

Each login user ID is unique to the individual. To determine what your login ID is, please click here: www.ontariolearn.com/eportal/username.htm
(Note: a new window will open and the back button will not work. Please close that new window once you have established your User ID to return to this window).
Students registered at Conestoga College will be using cg-(first 3 letters of first name)(last name up to 9 letters). The user id can’t be more than 15 characters total with no hyphens, apostrophes or spaces in the name.
For example: Julie O’Student would be cg-julostudent

Password

A generic password is assigned to each student. Your password is "newone". Please change this password once you enter your course.

Email

A generic email address is in the Blackboard and WebCT sign on. Please change this to your personal email address for the instructor to contact you. FirstClass has its own email system.

Course Platform and Download

OntarioLearn.com and Conestoga use platforms/learning management systems: BlackBoard, Blackboard CE6, Moodle, Angel and FirstClass.

Courses may have a different look than others that you may have taken in the past or if you are registered in multiple courses. If your course is hosted on the FirstClass platform, you will be required to download and install software before you can login to your course. Detailed instructions to download are available online by clicking here: www.ontariolearn.com/fc_install.htm
If you plan to complete your course on your workplace computer, please check with your IT department as some companies will have a firewall in place to prevent downloads.

If you encounter any technical difficulties accessing your course please contact Embanet Technical Support Help Desk at 1-800-695-5008 or visit http://www.ontariolearn.com/help/. Technical assistance is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and is available to you for the duration of your course.
