Classroom Enhanced courses are
designed to use the capabilities of the college’s LMS to
supplement and enhance effective learning. Students still attend
classes at regularly scheduled times but depending on the course,
in addition to the classroom instruction, students use the LMS to
access their course outlines, assignments, read lecture notes,
participate in online conferences, take quizzes, or check grades.
The technology is intended to supplement rather than replace
regular classroom activities and learning.
A hybrid course is a blend of
face-to-face instruction with online learning. In a hybrid
course, a significant part of the course learning is online
and as a result, the amount of classroom seat-time is reduced.
Fully online courses are courses
in which all activities are completed online and there are no
required face-to-face meetings between students and instructors.
Fully online courses can be taken from anywhere, eliminating the
need to be on campus, yet still enabling students the
opportunity to participate in a highly interactive and engaging
learning environment.
So you want to develop a course?
Here is what you need to do to get started.
If you wish to use ANGEL for a classroom enhanced delivery only, you can set your course up and copy content into it yourself. You can find a full set of instructions here: Setting Up an Online Course For a New Semester .
You can start adding content to your classroom enhanced course shell as soon as it is available to you. Technical Support for all online courses is available through CET. Please see the Online Course Minimum Design Standards for some tips on what we suggest should be included in your ANGEL course shell.
If you want to develop a hybrid or fully online course, CET will work with you in a team approach in the design, development, and delivery aspects. We are striving to ensure that all new courses and programs developed on ANGEL meet College requirements and follow best practices.
Note: There are some specific design requirements for a Conestoga College fully online or hybrid course. These design standards have been developed in conjunction with OntarioLearn requirements and Conestoga College best practices for online course development.
