The Educational Technology Department of Conestoga is pleased to offer face to face training workshops for Desire2Learn (D2L). You can register for these courses online through the student portal at https://portal.conestogac.on.ca/StudentPortal/Default.aspx.
Unless otherwise noted, all Face to Face training will be held in Room 216 of the ATS Building at the Doon Campus.

PDEV0966 | Getting Started with D2L | This workshop will provide an introduction to Desire2Learn. It will cover the basics of getting logged in and the Home and Course pages. You will learn how to edit your profile and manage notifications. |

PDEV0967 | Creating Course Content in D2L | This workshop will provide an overview of Modules and Topics within Desire2Learn. You will learn how to add content such as documents, files and links. You will also learn about the function of D2L‘s Course Builder to provide a course layout that can be populated at a later time. Release Conditions that determine when and who can see content will also be covered. |

PDEV0968 | Communication Tools in D2L | This workshop will cover the numerous communication tools available within D2L. News, Audio Capture, Video Note, Mail, Calendar and Chats will be the main topics of this session. |

PDEV0969 | Discussions and Blogs in D2L | This workshop will provide a detailed overview of the discussion and blog tools within D2L. You will learn how to create discussions and topics, and how to post messages and replies. As well, you will learn how to add a blog, post entries to it and how to make it publicly accessible. Best practices and benefits of these tools will be discussed. |

PDEV0971 | Quizzes in D2L | This workshop will focus on the Quizzes tool in D2L. You will learn how to add different question types, many of which will be marked automatically. You will learn about the number of settings available to determine time restrictions, attempts and question display. You will also get to view the submissions and reports. |

PDEV0972 | Dropbox and Rubrics in D2L | This workshop will cover the setup, management and grading of Dropbox submissions. You will also learn how to create an online rubric that can be used to provide a grade and standard comments to users. Both Holistic and Analytic rubrics will be covered. |

PDEV0973 | Managing Your Course Site and Students in D2L | This workshop will look at managing course dates, viewing user progress, enrolling other faculty, copying and exporting content, and the attendance tool. You will also learn how to set up student groups to provide space and tools for group learning and projects. |

PDEV0977 | Grades and Gradebook in D2L | In this workshop you will learn how to setup D2L Grades. You will setup items for inputting grades manually as well as associate quizzes, drop boxes and discussions so that grades from those items are transferred automatically. |
