MyCareer Frequently Asked Questions for Employers

Q: Is there a cost to posting jobs?
A: Employers can post jobs for Conestoga students FREE of charge on the MyCareer site. The address is careers.conestogac.on.ca

Q: What kinds of jobs can our organization post?
A: Employers can post co-op, full-time, part-time or seasonal positions. Job postings are viewed by all Conestoga full-time students as well as alumni.

Q: Can more than one person in my organization have an employer account?
A: Yes, many people within your organization can have an employer account. Your account is tied to your email address. Each contact will be sent a temporary password. When you log in the first time, you will have the opportunity to change your password by typing over the password and clicking Update.

Q: How will I receive resumes for graduate, part time, summer, contract or volunteer positions?
A: Graduates and applicants for part time, summer, contract or volunteer positions will apply directly to your organization via your email address, fax or in person. Please be sure to specify the method of application when submitting your information.

Q. How do I retrieve my co-op application packages?
A. You will be able to retrieve your co-op application packages online one day after the posting closes. To do so, simply go to the “Job Application” tab to view your applications.

Q: Can I see how many applicants have viewed my job posting? (Both Co-op and Career postings)
A: Yes employers are able to see how many applicants have viewed their postings for both co-op and career jobs. However, only co-op job postings list the number of applicants that applied.

Q: How do I change my password?
A: You will have the opportunity to change your password by clicking on the “My Account Info” tab, typing over the password and clicking Update.

Q: What if I forget my password?
A: On the Login page, click on the “Forgot Password “tab”. Enter your Login ID which is your e-mail address. The system will e-mail your password to your address.

Q. Can I edit the job description once my posting has been approved?
A. No, you will need to contact our Department at MyCareer@conestogac.on.ca. We will be happy to make any revisions for you.

Q. How important is it for me to include wage / salary information on the job posting?
A. Including a detailed job description and wage range will help to attract a greater pool of applicants. This is particularly important for co-op students as co-op work term earnings help pay for their tuition. For information on average co-op wages, please see:

Q. What if my company address changes, or I change my position within my organization but would still like to use MyCareer as recruitment tool?
A. Simply log into your account, change your information and click Update. It is important to keep your mailing address and contact information current to ensure you receive our annual Employer Guide and other materials.

Q. Should I contact co-op students directly for an interview?
A. As part of our service for co-op employers, we would prefer to contact and organize the interview on your behalf. Please contact us when you ready to interview. We are here to help!
