Conestoga College’s Co-operative Education and Career Services Department is pleased to offer comprehensive services to support your recruitment and promotional needs. Please review the following policies to ensure we can support your recruitment needs.

Job Posting Privileges

Employers and franchise managers who wish to hire Conestoga College students / graduates for entrepreneurial opportunities and have contractual stipulations that include one or more of the following characteristics will not be permitted to post positions:

  1. Offer compensation that is based 50% or more on commission
  2. Request the payment of “up-front” fees for training and/or materials before the employee is able to begin work and/or
  3. Charge a fee if the employee leaves before their contract is over, must clearly indicate these characteristics on the job description in order for Co-operative Education and Career Services Department to approve this job opportunity.
    Examples:
    • All persons hired for an opportunity will be self-employed and compensation for this position is 100% commission-based.
    • To work for our organization, you will be required to pay professional license fees, training and/ or materials before you can start working.
    • If you leave before your contract is over; you are liable to pay a financial penalty.

On Campus Events

Pyramid-type or multi-level marketing organizations are not permitted to attend on-campus promotional events. The College’s independent newspaper, The Spoke would be a great place to advertise your job opportunities to our students, with a distribution of over 15,000. Homeowners and Third Party / Temporary Recruitment Agencies

Homeowners:
Conestoga College does not advertise jobs for personal services such as in home child care, home care for the elderly or disabled, photography or free labour positions. For other advertising options, we recommend that you contact the local Human Resources Development Centre or specialized homecare support agencies. The HRDC number can be found in the telephone book blue pages or through the website at www.hrsdc.gc.ca.

Third Party Recruiters:

Third party recruiters are agencies, organizations or individuals recruiting students / graduates for employment opportunities on behalf of another organization.

Third party recruiters will be asked to provide a direct link to their graduate employment opportunities. This information will be placed on a resource page for graduates and students to access should they be interested in finding employment through an agency.
