Welding Engineering Technology - Inspection (Optional Co-op)

Program Details

Credential: 3-Year Ontario College Advanced Diploma

This three-year advanced diploma program prepares students with training in both welding inspection and quality assurance. Metallurgical analysis, destructive testing of welds and non-destructive evaluation methods for quality control and assurance are all covered in detail. Students combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a variety of operational areas such as selection and application of welding processes, troubleshooting of welding equipment, and the operation of welding robotics and automation. All theoretical training is supported by extensive hands-on experience in well-equipped welding and metal-testing laboratories.

Graduates are well-prepared for employment opportunities in a wide variety of industries including automotive manufacturing, pressure vessel & piping, power generation, technical sales, and non-destructive testing and inspection.

Student Availability

Conestoga College facilitates recruitment on an ongoing basis - there are no hard deadlines. Typical time frames for work terms are listed below.

Postings are accepted beginning four months before the start of a term until all students have secured employment provided the minimum 12 consecutive weeks of full-time work is met.
