First Gen Ambassador
Overview
Bi-weekly team meetings provide opportunities for development in the areas of teamwork, leadership, communication and event planning.
Volunteer Requirements
- Want to be a positive ambassador for Conestoga College and the First Generation Student Initiative
- Be registered as a part-time or full-time student at Conestoga College
- Possess or have a desire to build strong communication and teamwork skills
- Show respect and support of fellow First Gen Students
Roles and Responsibilities
- Foster a sense of pride and belonging amongst First Gen Students
- Share your perspectives, challenges and accomplishments as a First Gen Student
- Promote awareness of First Gen Students on campus
- Meet bi-weekly for 1 to 1.5 hours from September through April
- Assist in the planning, organization and execution of various on-campus events
Opportunities for Growth and Development
- Increase your interpersonal skills including teamwork and leadership development
- Strengthen your critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Network with other students and staff on campus
- Enhance your employment portfolio with valuable volunteer experience
- Have fun while making an impact in your community
