About the Program
This program prepares graduates for an exciting career in the field of information technology support. Graduate employability is significantly enhanced by in-depth training in a broad range of business, computer and people skills. To enhance business skills, there are courses in office productivity software, business mathematics, and technical writing. To enhance computer skills, there are courses in computer hardware, networking, programming, databases, and web development. To enhance people skills, there are courses in customer support, customer service and customer training. Graduates of this program find employment as information technology support professionals in a wide variety of settings.

Admission Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status (See Mature Student definition for details.)
- Grade 12 compulsory English, C or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1270)
- Grade 12 Mathematics, C or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Mathematics (MATH1375)

Admission Procedures
- An academic strength is calculated by averaging the submitted marks of required subjects. If more than one mark is received for a required subject, the highest mark will be used in the calculation.
- Ten (10) additional marks are added to each Advanced level, OAC, U, U/C, and post-secondary course used in the calculation of academic strength.
- A sound mathematical and English background is important for success in this program and is considered during the admission selection process. Minimum cutoffs apply.
Program Requirements
- The co-op work term takes place in the winter semester after the first three semesters (Fall, Winter, Fall) have been completed. The final semester is in the spring.

Employment opportunities might include information technology support, help desk support, software trainer, scheduling and systems coordinator, and customer service/information technology coordinator.79% of 2012-2013 graduates found employment within 6 months of graduation. Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
Conestoga recognizes prior learning of skills, knowledge or competencies that have been acquired through employment, formal and informal education, non-formal learning or other life experiences. Prior learning must be measurable at the required academic level and meet Conestoga standards of achievement for current courses. Challenge exams and portfolio development are the primary methods of assessment. Other methods of assessment may be available depending upon the nature of the course objectives. Successful completion of the assessment results in an official course credit that will be recorded on the student's Conestoga transcript. PLAR cannot be used by registered Conestoga students for the clearance of academic deficiencies, to improve grades or to obtain admission into a program.

Program Outcomes
- Demonstrate scheduling, task and organizational skills meeting deadlines to enhance the effective operation of the workplace and attain project related goals.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose computer hardware and software problems.
- Appropriately apply computer applications to store and manage data, communicate electronically and to produce a variety of business documents.
- Provide technical support and demonstrate effective training techniques related to computer software and hardware.
- Identify common support tools to provide technical support using the best-suited communications medium.
- Research, develop and create reports to substantiate the selection of computer related resources or services in the workplace.
- Demonstrate effective oral, graphical and written communication in business correspondence, technical documents, report writing, resumes, interviewing techniques, presentations, and public speaking.
- Apply mathematical techniques to solve problems and make decisions.
- Install, manage and maintain web servers; design and develop web sites.
- Administer a network by managing IP addresses, connecting computers to switches, adding users and groups to servers, implementing policies and scripts, and permitting or denying access to server files.
- Acquire an increased appreciation and understanding of the concepts and values required to enhance the quality of life for self and others in the home, workplace and the local and global community. This appreciation will be acquired through an exploration of selected broad goals of education in the areas of aesthetics, civic life, culture, personal development, society, work and the economy, science and technology.

For Students:
- You must be an active student in this Program (be currently registered in this Program or registered in at least one course in this Program's curriculum with fees paid).
- Adhere to the license terms of the MSDNAA Student Use Agreement.
- Go to the MSDNAA Software Center (link provided at the last item) to download your software. Please read MSDNAA software download instructions if you need some help. Be sure to record the software SERIAL NUMBER (if available, some free software doesn't have serial number).
- After installing you need to register (Activate) your software by using your software serial number. Click window list menu button at the left bottom corner, click all programs, select the program you installed, navigate to the help menu, enter your serial number. You can refer to the MSDNAA How-To Videos for help.
- When you are ready, go to the MSDNAA Software Center to get your MSDNAA software.
For Faculty:
