Ways to give

Time, expertise and gifts

There are a number of ways you can impact student success through your support of Conestoga. In addition to making a gift to a specific college priority, you may also wish to consider supporting Conestoga in a more personalized way through volunteering.

Student awards, memorial and tribute giving

Through the establishment of an award, scholarship or bursary, you can provide students with the financial support they need to pursue their educational goals. Making a memorial gift in remembrance of a loved one who has passed away or honouring someone through a tribute gift during their lifetime are both meaningful and thoughtful gestures and are a wonderful way to honour a memory while making a difference at Conestoga.

Endowments and named giving

One option to consider when making a gift is the creation of an endowed fund. Endowed funds provide the college with a stable source of funding as your gift will provide permanent benefit to the Conestoga community. Endowed funds may be named for you or to honour someone special in your life. There are also many established endowed funds where you may also choose to designate your gift.

Gifts-in-kind

A gift-in-kind donation occurs when a donor voluntarily transfers title of capital property. As this capital property is transferred to the college without expectation of any benefit, these gifts are considered to be charitable in nature and are eligible for tax receipts. These gifts enable us to enrich the learning experiences for our students by providing them with the materials and equipment they need to succeed.

Leaving a gift in your will

Your generosity will help strengthen our position among the top-ranked colleges in Ontario. By leaving a bequest, you are making an investment in a cause that is important to you and in Conestoga's future by providing the resources to support and build on our faculty, and providing support systems for our students.

The staff in the Advancement Office would be pleased to work with you and/or your lawyer to help you establish a bequest, including providing sample language tailored to your specific interests.

If you have made arrangements to leave a gift in your will to Conestoga, please send a completed Statement of Intent (pdf) form so that we may ensure proper administration of your gift. Letting us know you've taken the generous step of remembering Conestoga in your will is always up to you, however, we would like to show our gratitude and keep you updated on what is happening at the college.

Gifts of securities

You can make a contribution to Conestoga by gifting publicly traded securities. Conestoga will issue you a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of the gift based on the closing price of the securities on the date they are received by the college.

A gift of securities made now or through your will should be done in consultation with your financial or tax advisors. A Letter of Direction of Gifts of Publicly Traded Securities to Conestoga should be provided to your advisor.

Employee giving

As a Conestoga employee, you are part of a dedicated, caring community that supports our students every day. A community that goes above and beyond to ensure our students feel like they belong and are empowered to reach their potential.

We invite you to take your involvement to the next level by investing in our community through your personal philanthropy. Give to a program that you are passionate about and inspires you; give to a program you work on because you know how important it is; give to student awards and recognize students for their hard work and dedication.

You can give online or through monthly payroll deduction (pdf).
