Enquiry on Results

Analyses of IELTS results include such matters as the accuracy of clerical procedures, the internal reliability of the modules and the reliability of subjective marking. IELTS markers and examiners must meet the Code of Practice qualification requirements. Reliability of marking is assured through testing, certification and continuous monitoring of examiners.

Any further enquiries regarding your test results must be referred to The British Council in the United Kingdom .

A candidate may apply for an Enquiry on Results, which is a review of the individual and/or final score received on the Test Report Form. All enquiries must be made by the Conestoga College IELTS Administrator to The British Council. This request must be made within six weeks of the test date on the Test Report Form.

You will need to complete the Enquiry on Results Form and include the following:

  1. A letter stating clearly which module(s) you want reviewed, the reasons why the request for review is being made and the facts which the candidate considers to be relevant to the review.
  2. This letter must be accompanied by a money order in the amount of $151.00 (CAD) and made payable to Conestoga College, or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) using the "EOR-Payment Authorization Form".
  3. Include your original Test Report Form (not a copy - it must be the original TRF).

The request for review will be forwarded by the Conestoga College IELTS Test Centre to The British Council. The British Council will notify the IELTS Test Centre of the remark within 6-8 weeks of receipt of the candidate's test materials. The IELTS Test Centre will send a letter to the candidate, along with the final score as marked by The British Council. Please note that the EOR process could take up to 10-12 weeks from the time the test centre receives the EOR request.

The Enquiry on Results Form and attachments must be sent to the IELTS Administrator at the Test Centre where you wrote your IELTS test.

Please note the following points:

  • There is no appeal after this re-mark. The decision is final.
  • During the period of remarking, the test results are frozen, and cannot be used to apply for a university or to be sent to an immigration office. Any extra TRF application lodged during this period will be regarded as invalid.
  • Should the scores change after the Enquiry on Results, we will issue a new Test Report Form for the candidate, who can apply for five extra copies to be sent to receiving institutions free of charge within one month of the printing date at the bottom of the new Test Report Form.
  • For those whose scores remain the same, we will return the original Test Report Form to the candidate.
  • Please provide your full detailed contact address, postcode and daytime telephone number on the Application Form for Enquiry on Results.
