Workshop Descriptions

Leading with Purpose (2 hrs.)

"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." – Aristotle

This workshop will allow you to develop your self-awareness through exploring your personal strengths, challenges, beliefs and values. You will then be provided with tools to help you translate this increased self-awareness into your authentic personal leadership style.

Leading to Empower (2 hrs.)

"Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much." – Helen Keller

In this workshop, you will explore the key aspects of building an effective, collaborative and cohesive team. Topics will include the dynamics between competition and collaboration, the importance of inclusive language, and strategies for empowering yourself and others.

Impactful Leadership (2 hrs.)

"In a gentle way, you can shake the world." – Mahatma Gandhi

What does 'Think Global, Act Local' actually mean in practice? In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to examine the impact that your everyday choices can have on local, national and global levels, and explore practical tools that you can use to make a meaningful impact as a global citizen.

Wellness (1 hr)

"Every human being is the author of their own health." – Buddha

Beginning with a holistic definition of wellness, this workshop will give you the tools to assess your satisfaction with your current state of wellness. You will then be given the chance to explore strategies for improving different aspects of your wellness, and learn about campus and community resources available to help you achieve your wellness goals.

Conflict Resolution (1 hr)

"In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." –Albert Einstein

Conflict is inevitable, destructive conflict is not. In this workshop, you will learn effective strategies to make conflicts productive; that is, to approach conflicts as opportunities for growth. Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to identify the causes/drivers of conflict, explore the five approaches to conflict, understand the elements of principled negotiations, and apply intuitive listening and reframing skills.

Intercultural Communications (1 hr)

"In diversity there is beauty and there is strength." – Maya Angelou

In an increasingly globalized and diverse society, the ability to communicate effectively across social, religious, ethnic, educational, and cultural backgrounds has gained significant importance. In this workshop, you will discuss the concepts of culture and diversity, identify the challenges and strengths of different communication styles, and explore the values and beliefs that may underpin communication styles.
