Residence Orientation

Welcome to Residence! As your new home, our staff are here to help you every step of the way by providing social, academic and informative events and workshops. Our goal is to help you achieve the goals you have set entering post secondary and ensure you become an involved and engaged student.

We know that the transition from home to Residence can be overwhelming so all of us here at Residence have been doing everything we can to help ease the process. We have set up a number of events to help you meet the members of your community, both within Residence and the surrounding areas, familiarize yourself with the available services, and most of all have fun. Take a look at the event calendar for September to help you plan your orientation month and see what fun will be taking place at Rez when you move in.

But before you can start enjoying what Residence has to offer, you have to move in. For the majority of our Residents, move in will take place on September 5th. Please refer to your handbook for the times to move in, as defined by your last name. We understand that some members of our community are coming from far distances, have early program start dates or are just so excited about getting involved they want to move in before the scheduled dates. This is a great idea. This will allow you some time to settle in without the chaos of the main move in dates and participate in early move in events. There is a cost of $30/day to move in early, although this cost covers events and some meals. If you would like to move in early please email conestoga@stayrcc.com and inform us of your early arrival.

Are you the type of person who likes to get a head start on things or would like to be involved in Rez activities and events? Then you would be perfect for our Social Orientation Staff (S.O.S.) or Welcome Crew (W.C.)! We are looking for a number of motivated and enthusiastic students who like meeting people and getting involved. If this sounds like you, fill out the S.O.S. or W.C. form in either of your Residence Packages or email the Residence Life Manager, Laura Robinson, to find out more.
