Funding Opportunities

Whether you are searching for Federal or Provincial funding, business support or other funding for research, the Office of Applied Research at Conestoga College is a reliable resource, where you can find several different funding opportunities, for all types of Research Projects.

The following types of funding agencies provide support to those conducting research projects through universities, colleges and partnerships across the province and beyond.

Major Federal Funding agencies include the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI).

Major Provincial Funding agencies include the Ontario Centre of Excellence (OCE), the Innovation Demonstration Fund (IDF) and the Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI).

The Business Support programs offer funding for Ontario-based companies, and include such programs as the Advanced Manufacturing Investment Strategy Program through the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Canada Foundation for Innovation Funds.

The Foundations of Interest include organizations which provide funding support to researchers through such organizations as the Atkinson Charitable Foundation, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and The Change Foundation.
