Respect Reps

The Respect Rep team consists of a committed base of student volunteers who want to “Be the difference” and help to promote Conestoga College’s Respect Campaign.

Respect Reps help to lead the planning, organization and execution of several Respect-themed events throughout the academic year. Bi-weekly team meetings provide opportunities for development and growth related to respect, diversity and being able to more effectively understand others.

The Respect Reps are leaders for the Respect Campaign and will help to promote respect in our College community through leadership and positive role modeling, and by peer-to-peer interaction at Respect events.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Be a part-time or full-time registered student at Conestoga College.
  • Positive Ambassador for Conestoga College and the Respect Campaign.
  • Energy, will and enthusiasm to create positive change.
  • Available to attend bi-weekly meetings and attend all Respect events.
  • Possess or have a desire to build strong communication and teamwork skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be a positive advocate and communicator for the Respect Campaign in your program.
  • Meet once every two weeks for 1 – 1.5 hours from September through April.
  • Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of various Respect initiatives including Random Act of Kindness Day (November), Welcome Back Day (January), Respect Week (February) and Thank You Day (April)
  • Facilitate the Respect display booth at various times throughout the year and provide support with Respect Campaign outreach

  • Stronger understanding of diversity and demographics in our campus, local and global communities
  • Gain event planning, promotion and organizational experience
  • Opportunity to network with other students and staff on campus
