What do you see when you walk down the halls or attend a class at Conestoga? What sort of interactions do you experience? Are they all positive?

The Respect Campaign is proud to offer a video presentation that can be a vital learning opportunity for students in your classroom, students working at on-campus jobs and student leaders.

The “Respect: Understanding our Students" video provides the diverse perspectives of our students who have generously offered to speak about their experience at Conestoga and what Respect means to them on our campus and in our classrooms. The result is an honest set of student stories set against the backdrop of statistics of students in post-secondary today.

Some of the stories shared in the video include the experiences of students with physical or learning disabilities, students with mental health issues, students who identify as gay/lesbian/bisexual, students in financial debt, first generation students, aboriginal students, International and New Canadian students, single parent students, students in non-traditional programs, and mature and Second Career students.

Students in our classrooms and student leaders on our campus share a responsibility to be able to understand and respect the diversity, experiences and challenges of students at Conestoga in order to be able to more effectively lead or learn with others.

We encourage you to allow your students to hear what other students have to say about Respect and what they can learn from the experiences of fellow peers.
