Our students have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding their experience while participating in Campus Service Learning initiatives. We are happy to share some anonymous testimonials from a number of students in various programs who have participated in past CSLs at Conestoga College!
“After doing this event, it has made me more aware of the different ways to get involved around Conestoga College. It made me feel good about myself to do something for such a good cause and I think our class did an amazing job!”

“I discovered with this event that I am not as shy as I thought. I mean I’m not that shy but I didn’t think I could jump around the school like I did. I think it is kind of neat what you can do when you really get into something.”

“I learned that I was passionate about others and that I do not have to be reserved as I usually am. Overall the experience was exciting and what I have learned about myself was rewarding.”

“I didn't expect a lot of people will be there to see our presentation, but there were a lot of questions to answer. After I finished my presentation, I felt proud of myself that I did a wonderful job.”

“This event provided the opportunity (for me) to communicate with native speakers, so I improved my communication skills throughout this event. I learned what makes good teamwork (and) I learned about other countries' culture and I could finally show off my country's culture.”

“One of the main new skills that I used would be leadership skills. I’m usually the one who just sits and gets assigned tasks and completes them without really saying a word. I found with this assignment I stepped up a lot more... I would say that this experience gave me sort of a “new outlook” on certain things that I do at school. I am never the outgoing person in the group, the person with all the great ideas, or the person who even enjoys working in a group. But I found this experience to be really enjoyable for me…This experience definitely gave me a little more enthusiasm and drive to succeed.”

“During this experience at the Health and Wellness Week, it made me want to get more involved in the College and experience some things that I can get into. In doing this I hope to get a full experience in college.”

“I really enjoyed working together as a team with the students to discuss and carry out different tasks. I feel that it was a very positive team effort experience and that all of us worked together to accomplish the many necessary tasks to make these events come to fruition…I also feel that it was very beneficial not only for the students that we helped through our knowledge and efforts, but also for ourselves to be able to put into practice what we have learned throughout the program.”
