Service Update InformationHighway 401 construction: August 1 to November, 2019
Between August and November, construction on the east and westbound lanes of Highway 401 may impact travel for Conestoga students and employees at the Doon and Cambridge campuses. The project includes repaving and upgrades that will stretch one kilometre both east and west of the Homer Watson Boulevard interchange. Paving operations are expected to take place overnight and will result in closures and lane restrictions that will start between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily. Overnight work should be completed by 6:30 a.m. Ramp closures may also occur throughout the day.
Temporary bus terminal at Doon: starting September 1
Beginning September 1, Grand River Transit will operate a temporary bus terminal in a section of Lot 10 at the Doon campus. All passengers will board and alight from buses in that area. Customers with mobility devices who are unable to board at the temporary station can board at an accessible stop at the entrance to parking lot 8, near the Welcome Centre kiosk. The iXpress routes 201, 203 and route 76 will remain on the roadway between the front of the Rec Centre and E Wing. During this period, blue parking permits from Lot 10 are also valid in Lots 11-14.
HVAC repair at Doon: October 21-26, 2019
Due to maintenance, the HVAC fan servicing the 2C level in the main building at Doon will be shut down during Student Success Week, October 21 to 26.
Hydro shutdown at Waterloo: October 26, 2019
There will be a brief hydro shutdown in the east block of the main building at the Waterloo campus on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Emergency back up power will be operational during this time.
Hydro shutdown at Doon: October 26, 2019
There will be a brief hydro shutdown in the Woodworking Centre at Doon on Saturday, October 26 from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Emergency back up power will be operational during this time.
Doon road construction - October 15 - November 10, 2019
Starting October 15, construction will begin on the ring road at Doon in order to establish bus bays for GRT transit vehicles between Doors 1 and 2 of the main building. Once complete, the new bays will replace the temporary transit terminal in Lot 10. The ring road will be closed daily between A wing and the Recreation Centre from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. when it will re-open to one-way traffic exiting the campus. During the construction period, pedestrian walkways will be established for foot traffic in the area, and accessible drop-off areas will be available at Door 7 and the north side of A wing near Lot 6. CSI shuttle services will also be rerouted: follow CSI channels for more information and updates. Construction is expected to be complete by November 10, weather permitting.
