Students will utilize various skills to manage typical office-related documents and activities. The course tests the students` ability to take ownership and responsibility for the administrative work that is required in an office setting while managing and providing leadership within an administrative team.

Executive Office Communications

This course introduces the students to various forms of communications in an executive office setting. Leadership and Decision Making

This course introduces students to current uses of information technology in a business setting. Introduction to Project Management

Description:

This course provides the practical knowledge to prepare for starting and completing a project successfully. It will cover the components and tasks related to complex projects that often involve multiple functional teams and departments. You will explore how the knowledge areas of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) are applied during each phase of a project's life cycle as well as the processes related to successful project management. An overview of status reporting and the use of MS Project will be covered. This knowledge will help establish priorities and effectively manage your projects. It will be of particular interest to those students who have a long-term goal of attaining the Project Management Professional (PMP)® designation certified by the Project Management Institute.

Public Relations Theories and Applications

Description:

Whether working in a small start-up or large multinational company, Executive Assistants (EAs) play a pivotal role in managing an organization’s image and brand across multiple internal and external stakeholders. In this course, students will be introduced to the foundational principles of Public Relations (PR) including media relations, crisis communications, reputation management, community relations, social media and employee communications. Students will develop PR plans based on the R.A.C.E. framework. Additionally, students will demonstrate how their own personal PR plays a significant role in reflecting an organization’s brand. Through case studies based on current situations, experiential learning activities and practical assignments, students will deepen their ability to work strategically and broadly while developing critical thinking skills.
