Program description - June 2021

The General Carpenter/Welder Pre-apprenticeship program consists of 20 weeks in school and 8 weeks of on-the-job training and will equip students with the basic skills to secure a position as an apprentice or an entry level position in industry. The curriculum provides students with the General Carpenter Level 1 Apprenticeship training to increase the student's general level of knowledge about the carpentry industry. It also includes a basic introduction to welding. The program includes academic upgrading and employment strategies to ensure students are well-equipped to enter the workforce.

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a needs-based program designed to help Ontario students cover the cost of post-secondary education.
