- Assistance with job search strategy, interview preparation and resume and cover letter writing
- Posting work term employment opportunities on MyCareer
- Evaluating potential workplaces as suitable for co-op work terms
- Coaching and advising you on the labour market
Expectations of a co-op student
As a co-op student, you are expected to:
- Complete between one and four work terms, depending on your program
- Submit job applications and attend job interviews as part of your search
- Work full-time while on your work term and study full-time while at Conestoga
Entrepreneurship co-op
Turn your co-op work term into an opportunity to build something of your own.
Entrepreneurship co-op through the Conestoga Entrepreneurship Collective (CEC) allows you to earn co-op credit while building a business, developing a freelance career, and exploring entrepreneurship as a career path. Through Venture Co-op and Gig Co-op, turn your ideas into action while gaining practical experience that can extend well beyond your co-op term.
Venture Co-op
Build and validate a business venture during your co-op work term. Explore a market, test your idea, develop your business model, and work toward launching a viable venture.
Gig Co-op
Build a freelance business during your co-op work term. Define your services, develop your offer, find clients, and gain experience delivering paid work as an independent professional.
Details:
- 15-week, unpaid full-time co-op work term
- Minimum commitment of 30 hours a week
- Support from CEC through coaching, industry connections, and mentorship
