Explore the trades with Conestoga's Construction Techniques (Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC and Welding) certificate.

If you're a high school graduate eager to enter the skilled trades but not sure where to start, Conestoga's one-year Construction Techniques (Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC and Welding) certificate offers the perfect starting point. This Ontario College program introduces you to four in-demand trades–carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and welding–through hands-on training and safety-focused instruction at Conestoga's state-of-the-art Skilled Trades Campus.

Delivered in seven-week blocks, each trade module provides practical experience and insight into different career paths. You'll also strengthen your math and employment skills, preparing you to pursue entry-level work or continue into specialized trade programs. Taught by experienced trades professionals, the program helps you discover what you love and build a strong foundation for your future.

  • Safe and proper use of tools and equipment in each trade
  • Job site safety and industry standards
  • Math and employability skills for the skilled trades
