Applied Execution and Control of Operations

Description:

This course is the capstone of the operations planning and information technology themes of the program and provides students with hands-on experiential learning in the integrated use of ERP systems, decision support models, and integrated analytics. In this course students will utilize advanced spreadsheet functions and tools to develop decision support models for demand, production, and inventory planning to be used while participating in a business simulation game, ERPsim. In this simulation game student teams will manage a virtual company in a competitive market and utilize their knowledge of the operations planning process, ERP systems, and data analytics to operationalize a business strategy and monitor results utilizing analytics methods. Students will develop data models, queries, and analytics approaches with spreadsheets to build data visualizations, interactive dashboards, and scorecards.
