Academic delivery plan - spring 2023 term

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Conestoga has developed an academic delivery plan for spring 2023. The safety and well-being of our college community remains our highest priority. Our academic plan continues to be based on the advice of public health authorities and is subject to change pending developments in the external college environment. For the most up-to-date information about college protocols, go to COVID-19.

Back on campus

We look forward to continuing to welcome students back in person and on campus for the spring term. There are three ways in which programs will be delivered:

  • Hybrid: You will be required to attend in-person classes at your assigned campus. Most class hours will be delivered in person, with a few hours delivered online.
  • On campus: You will be required to attend in-person classes at your assigned campus. All class hours will be delivered in person.
  • Online: Online programs will be delivered fully online. There will be no in-person classes.

Details regarding classes and delivery formats will be provided in your program schedule (timetable).

What to expect for the spring 2023 term (May 2023)

On campus

For most students, spring 2023 programs will be delivered on campus and in person, with some activities completed online. There will be limited flexibility in most programs for students to change timetables that will be generated in mid-April. For example, in most hybrid programs, students will not be able to adjust the mix or type of courses in the program that will be delivered on campus and online.

Campus services

Students will have access to a full range of on-campus services and supports, including food services, computer labs, and learning and wellness staff.

Masks on campus

Conestoga has paused masking requirements at all campus locations.

Masks will continue to be available on campus at no charge. Students are strongly encouraged to consider wearing a tight-fitting, well-constructed mask in situations where physical distancing is not possible.

Please respect the choices of others, including those who may choose to continue wearing masks.

Vaccination requirements

Conestoga has paused proof of vaccination requirements at all campus locations.

We will continue to monitor conditions and consult with public health advisors. It may be necessary to bring back vaccine requirements on short notice to protect the health and well-being of our college community and create a safe environment for those who are most vulnerable.

Students are encouraged to keep up to date with COVID-19 vaccines to avoid disruptions to their educational experience should it be necessary to reinstate the policy.

Message from the Dean

Suzanne Moyer

Welcome to the School of Trades & Apprenticeship and thank you for choosing Conestoga College for your post-secondary education.

Full-time programming in Trades will be delivered through both on-campus and online learning. Apprenticeship classes will take place primarily through on-campus learning.

On-campus learning will take place in person in shops, labs, or classrooms. Online learning may be delivered through a combination of:

  1. Scheduled, live, real-time sessions (also known as synchronous delivery) via Zoom or similar platform, and
  2. Unscheduled content delivery (also known as asynchronous delivery)

Asynchronous and synchronous delivery will be shown on your timetable. For information about your program delivery, please see below.

At Conestoga, we are committed to your success. Our program staff will make all efforts to provide you with a positive learning experience while incorporating safe, hands-on, practical learning. In addition, you will have access to a wide range of student services designed to support your academic journey.

I wish you all the best during the spring term.
