Academic delivery plan - spring 2022 term

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Conestoga has developed an academic delivery plan for spring 2022. The safety and well-being of our college community remains our highest priority. Our academic plans continue to be based on the advice of public health authorities and is subject to change pending developments in the external college environment. For the most up-to-date information about college protocols, go to COVID-19.

Return to campus

We look forward to continuing to have students back in-person and on campus for the spring term. There are three main ways in which programs will be delivered:

  • Hybrid: You will be required to attend in-person classes at your assigned campus. Most class hours will be delivered in-person, a few hours will be delivered remote/online.
  • On-campus: You will be required to attend in-person classes at your assigned campus. All class hours will be delivered in-person.
  • Remote: Remote programs will be delivered fully online. There will be no in-person classes.

Details regarding classes and delivery formats will be provided in your program schedule (timetable).

What to expect in the Spring 2022 term (May 2022)

Welcome to campus

For most students, Spring 2022 programs will be delivered on campus and in person, with some activities completed remotely. There will be limited flexibility in most programs for students to change timetables that will be generated in mid-April. For example, in most hybrid programs students will not be able to adjust the mix or type of courses in the program that will be delivered on campus and remotely.

Campus services

Students will have access to a full range on-campus services and supports for students, including food services, computer labs, and learning and wellness staff.

Masks on campus

Effective July 1, 2022, Conestoga has paused masking requirements at all campus locations.

Masks will continue to be available on campus at no charge. Students are strongly encouraged to consider wearing a tight-fitting, well-constructed mask in situations where physical distancing is not possible.

Please respect the choices of others, including those who may choose to continue wearing masks.

Vaccination requirements

Effective July 1, 2022, Conestoga has paused proof of vaccination requirements at all campus locations.

We will continue to monitor conditions and consult with public health advisors. It may be necessary to bring back vaccine requirements on short notice to protect the health and well-being of our college community and create a safe environment for those who are most vulnerable.

Students are encouraged to keep up to date with COVID-19 vaccines to avoid disruptions to their educational experience should it be necessary to reinstate the policy.

Trades and Apprenticeship

Message from the Dean

Suzanne Moyer

Welcome to the School of Trades & Apprenticeship and thank you for choosing Conestoga College for your post-secondary education.

We look forward to welcoming students to campus for the spring term. Pending public health decisions, most programs in the school of Trades and Apprenticeship will be delivered on campus, with some theory delivered online.

For on campus learning, course delivery will continue to be informed by public health guidelines as we continue to work through this pandemic. Online learning may be delivered through a combination of:

  1. Scheduled, live, real-time sessions (also known as synchronous delivery), and
  2. Unscheduled content delivery (also known as asynchronous delivery)

Asynchronous and synchronous delivery will be shown on your timetable. For information about your program delivery, please see below.

All students including apprentices who are starting programming in the spring term must upload proof of vaccination. Visit COVID-19 Information for instructions on submitting your vaccination proof.

At Conestoga, we are committed to your success. Our program staff will make all efforts to provide you with a positive learning experience while incorporating safe, hands-on, practical learning. In addition, you will have access to a wide range of student services designed to support your academic journey.

I wish you all the best during the spring term.

Suzanne Moyer
Dean, School of Trades & Apprenticeship
