This degree level course introduces students to basic concepts, theories and methodologies of microeconomics and macroeconomics and their application in a global context. The application of compensation principles to organizational objectives is studied and evaluated, with particular emphasis on cultural variations and sensitivities. This course also covers job analysis, job description, and job evaluation on the basis of compensable factors as well as designing an equitable pay structure. Strategic use of compensation systems for attracting, motivating, and retaining employees is incorporated with managerial aspects of paying employees at all organizational levels. The COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdowns and related global recession have created a highly uncertain outlook for the labour market and accelerated the arrival of the future of work.
