Program description - September 2025

Do you want to join one of the most vibrant and dynamic industries and make people's travel dreams come true? Embark on an exciting journey in the ever-evolving world of travel and tourism with Conestoga's two-year Ontario College Diploma program.

The program is designed for individuals eager to create extraordinary travel experiences. The courses encompass extensive skills vital for a career in the Tour, Travel, Airline, and Cruise industries. This program will prepare you to work in various areas, including Reservations, Groups, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Events Coordination.

Throughout your learning adventure, you will cover a broad spectrum of expertise, from developing entrepreneur skills to fostering an understanding of digital marketing, financial management, sustainability, and the exciting sectors of adventure, sport, luxury, and eco-travel. You may want to participate in a study abroad course while sailing on a Caribbean cruise!

Throughout the program, you will:

  • explore local tourist destinations in the surrounding Waterloo, Niagara, and Toronto regions while assessing these attractions' attractiveness and marketing value.
  • gain proficiency in industry-standard software platforms. At the same time, you explore emerging tools and technologies in travel, such as data analytics and blockchain applications, and niche tourism trends, such as space tourism, hipster cruises, and foodie airports.
  • engage with guest speakers from across the industry who bring diverse perspectives and invaluable insights from the world of tourism.
  • experience hands-on, project-based learning as you craft Travel and Tour plans, creating customized itineraries encompassing product development, marketing strategies, costing, and advertising techniques.
  • be equipped with certifications, including SmartServe and Safe Food Handlers.
Upon graduation, this program also prepares you to write the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (ACTA) and Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) examinations. For eligible candidates, the program offers an optional co-op opportunity.

Join us in transforming travel dreams into unforgettable realities and shaping the future of tourism, one innovative step at a time.
