Academic awards — graduating

The college recognizes exceptional academic achievement by its students both during their studies and upon graduation. To this end, as set out below, there will be five categories of academic recognition - one annual and four upon graduation.

  • President's Honour List
    Award to the graduating student in each diploma, graduate certificate and applied degree program who obtains the highest average in the program. Criteria: The average for all courses of the program design must be a minimum of 90 per cent, with no failed courses
  • Graduation with High Distinction
    Recognition upon graduation for all students registered in diploma/graduate certificate/degree programs. Criteria: An average of 90 per cent or greater for all courses of the program design, with no failed courses.
  • Graduation with Distinction
    Recognition upon graduation for all students registered in diploma/graduate certificate/degree programs. Criteria: An average of between 80-89 per cent in all courses of the program design, with no failed courses.
  • Conestoga Honour List
    Recognition upon graduation for all students registered in Ontario college certificate and apprenticeship programs. Criteria: An average of 80 per cent or greater for all courses of the program design, or for apprentices all levels of their program, with no failed courses.

A bronze medal goes to the graduating student with the highest academic grade average for all courses in a diploma program.
