Academic delivery plan

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Conestoga has developed an academic delivery plan for 2021. The safety and well-being of our college community remains our highest priority. Our academic plans and decisions for the spring and fall terms continue to be based on the advice of public health authorities.

Some programs will be delivered in a hybrid format (a combination of remote and on-campus learning). Other programs will be delivered in a remote format only. Courses in which remote delivery is not possible will be offered entirely through on-campus delivery.

Only students who have classes scheduled on campus will be pre-approved to be on campus. Students need to complete a mandatory pre-approval process before they can attend their class. Students who do not have a scheduled activity are not permitted on campus. Support services for students will continue to be available remotely.

Please note: Academic delivery plans for the fall term will be completed and subsequently updated on this web page throughout the spring. College academic delivery plans may be modified as a result of COVID-related developments in the region or province.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the delivery approaches for the spring 2021 term?

Remote Delivery: Technology-enabled virtual instruction that takes place outside of a physical classroom.

Hybrid Delivery: Instruction that includes a combination of remote delivery and some on-campus activities.

On-campus Delivery: In-person instruction that takes place at a college campus.

Do all courses that are being delivered remotely have a class time scheduled for a certain day and time?

Courses that will be delivered remotely will include some form of real-time virtual classes or drop-in times as well as asynchronous (self-directed) components.

Expectations regarding course delivery and participation will be communicated by your faculty member at the start of the semester and included in the instructional plan of your course.

Where can I find information about the delivery format for non-post secondary programs (e.g., Apprenticeship, LINC, Academic Upgrading)?

Academic Delivery Plans are posted on the college website for full-time post-secondary programs (e.g., diploma, certificate, degree, etc.). Students in LINC and Academic Upgrading programs will receive information from their program teams regarding the delivery approach. Apprenticeship students should check their program page for information on the delivery format for their program.

What technology do I require for remote delivery?

Technology requirements for programs are posted on the program web page. Students in remote and hybrid delivery courses will require a device, webcam functionality, and reliable Internet access.

I have a field placement scheduled. What should students who have co-ops or field placements expect?

The format for co-op and field placements will be determined by program teams and communicated to students.

Is there assistance available for those requiring additional help with eConestoga?

For assistance using the college learning management system, students can visit eConestoga to view a range of support options.

Where can I find more information about college plans for the 2020/21 year?

Please check the COVID-19 web pages for the latest on college plans.

Is there a Student Success Week during the spring term?

Programs/schools will communicate with students whether there will be a Student Success Week for their specific program. Student Success Week is scheduled from June 28 to July 2.
