Program description - January 2024

Are you interested in building Bookkeeping skills that will make you an asset to small and mid-sized organizations? Are you looking to gain knowledge of the bookkeeping requirements for your own business?

Conestoga’s Bookkeeping program provides you with a holistic set of skills and knowledge in just one-year, offering fundamental skills in financial accounting, personal income tax, and payroll. The program also works to develop your critical interpersonal, and collaborative skills that that will help you build relationships with clients, colleagues, and other contacts within the industry.

Taught by committed faculty with extensive industry experience, this one-year Ontario College certificate provides you with the opportunity to work with industry standard software, as well as emerging applications used in the field.

By enrolling in this program, you will be aligned to Canada’s largest and fastest-growing certifying body of bookkeepers. Students who begin this program in fall 2021 and later will have the opportunity to fast track towards the nationally recognized Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation. You will also have access to a preferred student membership rate, full of member benefits that will provide access to continuing education and networking opportunities with bookkeeping professionals across Canada. This program is offered full-time at Conestoga’s Kitchener - Doon and Brantford campuses, and part-time through Continuing Education.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will also have the opportunity to enter year 2 of Conestoga’s Payroll and Bookkeeping diploma program, with the addition of just two payroll courses.

Financial assistance

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a needs-based program designed to help Ontario students cover the cost of post-secondary education. Funded by the federal and provincial governments, OSAP is intended to promote equality of opportunity for post-secondary studies through direct financial assistance for educational costs and living expenses.
